Why chartering last minute isn't always the best deal

1. First come, first served.
This is a yacht charter broker's mantra. Early bookers are more rewarded than last minute bookers. Planning to make a yacht reservation when there's less demand will give you a better value for money: you get to choose your dates, the crew has more time for an optimal preparation
of your charter, off-shore activities
like getting a reservation at a generally fully-booked restaurant have a higher chance to happen.
2. Your favorite yacht where you want it, when you want it.
One of the highlights of spending a vacation on board is doing it on a yacht you dream of being on and not just any yacht. By booking in advance, you have a higher chance that your favorite yacht is available on your preferred dates. We advise our clients to book at least one year to 6 months in advance.
3. Less stress, more fun.
Imagine you only have one week or a couple of days to find a yacht that suits you and your friends or family and all yachts seem to be fully booked. This is a recipe for disaster: You begin contacting all charter companies in the desperate attempt to find an available yacht and the rates are insane for what is offered to you. When you have a dedicated charter consultant doing the research work on your behalf, you can concentrate on just packing the bags and leave.
4. A question of quality and timing.
Booking a yacht last minute increases your chances of getting a "leftover" yacht ( a yacht where quality cannot be assured ndr). Sometimes a last minute cancellation makes a great yacht available again, but the rule is that high-quality yachts
are the first to be reserved and thus to be unavailable. Make sure you plan your yacht charter well ahead of time to enjoy a vacation on the right yacht at the right time.
