Quattro Passi literally means "Four Steps" in Italian. In fact, if you ask an Italian to go for a walk, you might as well say "Andiamo a fare quattro passi" or to indicate that a place you need to get to is very close to your point of departure, you can say "A quattro passi da qui". It's ironic, considering that you can only reach Nerano either by driving through a windy road or by yacht. The first step to create this fantastic gastronomic retreat was taken by patron chef Antonio Mellino, whose dream was to create a restaurant of the finest levels in his home village Nerano. In 1983, Quattro Passi opened its doors as a restaurant and pizzeria (Antonio still likes to welcome guests with a delicious pizza as an entrée at times), evolving to the restaurant group we know today, after years of mastering skills and hard work. The whole Mellino family is involved in this success story. Madame Rita, Antonio's wife, welcoming guests with her warm smile, their first son Raffaele, looking after all of the management aspects of the business and Fabrizio who has now inherited the kitchen commando, after his education at Institut Paul Bocuse and working at some of the world's finest restaurants around Europe. He has been elected as Best Italian young chef of the year in 2018. Chapeu to his achievements and especially to his low key attitude.

Their level of attentiveness to the guest is unbeatable. None of us at the table has ever felt something was missing. You feel very well looked after all the time, and it starts long before you enter the restaurant in fact, it is reflected in each and every dish: in the crispy bread with the four steps symbol, in the amuse-bouche they serve to surprise you and in their harvesting project. 35% of the vegetables they serve is produced in their garden. Not to mention their outstanding wine cellar with more than 1500 prestigious labels. You enter as a guest, and certainly leave feeling as a longtime friend who is already looking forward to the next visit. With their ongoing projects, Quattro Passi staff is also available to be booked for a private catering aboard your super yacht during a charter or a private event.
Here is a sneak peak to their dishes. It gives us goosebumps to see how much passion they put into their creations. However we will have to set a lunch or dinner for the real experience.
